City firms will have a unique opportunity to battle it out on the world-famous Otley Grand Prix circuit to claim the glory of the fastest business in Yorkshire! Racing in front of thousands of fans makes this a unique experience. The excitement and adrenaline will fuel your team’s competitive spirit as you race to defeat your sporting city rivals.

 

The competition sees teams of four compete individually and as a team over the virtual qualification leading up to the City Challenge finale on the Otley Nocturne circuit.

 

Selected riders from each team will race against the clock and each other on our virtual time trial challenge on static bikes in the rider village.

 

The rankings from the virtual racing will define the position of the team on the start grid for the winner takes all City Challenge final. Winners of the virtual race will take pole position on the finish line with the teams being lined up behind down the finish straight – grid position will be crucial to give you and your team mates the edge in the final race.

 

The City Challenge will be a flat-out race over 3 laps of the Otley GP Nocturne circuit. It is a team race, so the result will be decided by the third rider across the line in each team, so teamwork is crucial.

 

THE RULES

The following rules and regulations will apply:

 

1. GENERAL

1.1 Cycling helmets are compulsory for all riders.

1.2 Final criterium result based on the third rider across the line from each team.

1.3 NO laps out will be permitted for mechanical issues.

 

2. TEAM COMPOSITION

2.1 Teams consist of up to six riders.

2.2 Riders must be your employees or clients.

2.3 No professional riders allowed.

2.4 A maximum of two riders can be British Cycling category 2, but no higher.
